About The Owner -- Dwight F. Boerem
Dwight has lived and worked in Southern Vermont since 1997. He founded Dutch Property Management in 2004 with a vision to establish a reputable and reliable property management firm with local ties to the community, and to help the region he cares about so much to thrive.
Dwight is a certified Community Association Manager through the Community Association Institute. He also completed the Southeast Leadership Vermont Program where he met with leaders throughout the state in all types of industries. The program provides individuals with the opportunity to see first hand how civic and business leaders in Vermont manage their affairs and interact with others.
Prior to starting his property management business he worked for four years at the Okemo Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce where he worked closely with all types of businesses, associations, and local and state government. He was responsible for membership development, financial planning, event coordination, developing marketing strategies, and bookkeeping.
Dwight has a B.A. in Political Science and Business from the State University of New York at Albany and a Masters Degree in International Politics from Fordham University. Following his studies he worked at the United Nations for five years organizing conferences, special events and press conferences for UN ambassadors and dignitaries. He was responsible for maintaining budgets, press coverage, and organizing detailed itineraries.
Having spent his weekends in Southern Vermont since a child, he moved from Long Island to the area in 1997 and began work at Mount Snow as the Event Coordinator in Marketing, responsible for promotional events, including competitions, mountain bike races, and summer music festivals. Later ventures include operations coordinator for ESPN Winter X Games & Great Outdoor Games, and event manager with Okemo Mountain Resort. He was recruited by the Chamber of Commerce to increase membership, design events, and promote the region.
Dwight serves the communities of Dover and Wardsboro on the River Valley School District School Board. He has volunteered for the Wardsboro Independence Day Parade and enjoys the outdoors including skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and golf with his wife, children, and friends. Dutch Property Management is named after a small ski hill that was in Southern Vermont where he learned how to ski. References are available upon request.
